Tenterden & District Men's Shed

Welcome to our temporary home page

While the Shed is in its set-up phase, Tenterden Volunteer Centre thought they would give it its own space on the website. Once up and running, a priority will be for the Shed to have its own website. Until then, we'll post details of progress here.

If you'd like to contact us about the Shed, drop us an email at   tenterdenmensshed@gmail.com   and of course we'll be happy to put you on our mailing list.

Tenterden & District Men's Shed Christmas Opening

The Shed opened its doors on Tuesday 3rd December, 2019 and work started on fitting out the workshop. We have social activities for those who prefer – with darts, Scrabble, dominoes, cards and table football available. Some prefer to come just for a chat with tea, coffee and biscuits always available.

We are starting to receive donations of tools which brings the need for PAT testing. We would welcome hearing from a qualified tester who could offer some help.

Over the first four sessions, ending on Wednesday 11th, work space has been created so that projects can be started. We're actively considering community projects to be undertaken, one of the prime objectives of the Shed.

Sessions start at 10 am and will resume on 7th and 8th January.

In the meantime all in the Shed wish everyone peace and happiness throughout the festive season and the coming year.

Here's our new home. It's located at the end of Church Road.

It comprises a good sized corner room 23ft by 12ft which will be the secure workshop, toilets and kitchen facilities and a large meeting room with plenty of room for socialising and games.

Getting ready for the opening session - a vinyl floor covering was selected to make it easier to clean up after sessions and to protect the carpet tiles in the corner room which will be the workshop. Once installed its time to bring in the first delivery of wood.  Notice the happy faces! That's our treasurer and one of our shed leaders.

Now we can get to work on the workbench and tables, shelves, cabinets and cupboards etc. And then the projects!
